Welcome Spring Seeds and Pots

Hello, and thank you for visiting!  In just two days, it will officially be Spring, so I wanted to do a quick and fun craft to welcome the season.

You will need:
Assorted seeds
Contact paper in a floral pattern
Ribbon
Mini pots
Tulle or cellophane
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Begin by lining up your planter to measure the contact paper.

Mark.

Contact paper can sometimes be a beast to separate from its backing.  I've found that using an Exacto knife works exceptionally well.

Once you have covered your pot and trimmed any excess, add a small package of seeds.

Set the pot in the middle if a strip of tulle,

Wrap, and

tie with ribbon.

I added a small sprig of faux flowers before I double-knotted the ribbon.

Voilà!  This is a kitschy yet sweet gift you can deliver (or send) to friends as a way to welcome Spring!

Where to buy:
Mini pots:  10/$1 The Dollar Tree
Contact paper: The Dollar Tree
Seeds 4/$1 at The Dollar Tree
Ribbon:  The 99¢ Store
Blooms:  The Dollar Tree
Tulle:  on hand, from my local thrift

Easy Spring or Easter Vignette

Hello, dear friends!  Thank you so much for stopping my blog!!

Easter is just a few short weeks away...time to bid "Slàn go fóill (goodbye for now) to dear Saint Pat as well as his glorious green.  This tutorial is a simple and festive idea to welcome Easter and Spring into your décor.  I hope you enjoy the post.

For one vignette, you will need:

A small wicker basket
2 packages Easter grass
Spanish moss
Assorted floral spray
Bunnies
Hemp or burlap thread
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

I began by stretching out the Easter grass to fit in the basket.

Bead glue into the bottom of the basket.

Add the Easter grass and press down.  Fluff back up.

Add another layer of glue.

Repeat the process.

Along the sides in several places, glue your grass onto the basket.

Bead glue on top of your two layers of grass.

Add the Spanish Moss and press down. Arrange and glue down until all of the grass is covered, taking care to attach on the sides of the basket. Set aside.

Next, my bunnies!!  ❤❤  I found this little darling on quick trip to the pharmacy. So cute!

I wanted this ornament to be rustic, so I began by removing all of the pink accessories.

I added a burlap bow tie.  Much better!

Bead a generous amount of glue onto the bottom of your bunny.

Place into the basket and hold down until cool.

Repeat process with your babies.  I thought this would be such a fun idea!  Nothing spells Spring like babies and rebirth!  :)

Finally, in several places, I added little sprigs of flowers, gluing them into place.

All finished!

Mini Bird's Nest Place Settings

Hello friends!  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog!

Being that it is almost Spring and that the rainy weather has finally relented, it got me thinking about my Easter Tablescape.  I thought it would be fun to place tiny nests at each setting indicative of the season.  I hope you enjoy the post.

You will need:

Poster board
Spanish moss
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Plate you intend to use in your setting
Writing utensil
Scissors
Assorted small Spring blooms

Begin by using the center of your plate as a guide.  Trace the underside of your plate.  Tracing the plate intended for use in your tablescape will ensure it fits right inside your plate.

Cut out.

Use your cutout as a template to make how many you need.

Align.

Trim away a bit so that all of your circles are symmetrical.

Bead glue onto the outer perimeter of your circle.

Mold the moss around the circle where you beaded the glue.

For extra reinforcement, between the layers, dot glue sporadically and continue to mold into a nest shape.  Allow cool time.

Once cool, lift up the edge of your nest and trim away any visible portions of the poster board.

Finally, shake vigorously to remove loose fibers. All set!

Closeup.

You can choose to adorn with small blooms as I've done here,

Or add eggs.  To view my tutorial about how to make these speckled eggs, you may visit the tutorial in the archives by clicking here.

The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination!  All supplies purchased at The Dollar Tree.
